My back is sore! My legs are sore! Welcome back to the dojo!!!!

After a two week break I'm back and what a return. Last night there was only four of us that stayed for second class. When Sensei walked out and saw us he had a wry smile on his face.

Before we started I guessed that the class would be hard, with so few you just don't get time for a rest. What I didn't count on was Sensei's playful/sadistic nature. His mentality seems to be: The more you work, the hotter you get; the hotter you get, the more relaxed you body becomes; the more relaxed you are, the harder you can work; the harder you work, the hotter you get, etc, etc ...... It was a long night.

We started with irimi-nage ni and then move onto another version of irimi-nage from a straight punch. Then it was all blood and guts with kote-gaeshi ni from a straight punch. The night finished off with a sumitoshi renzoku. It's hard to explain the throw in writing, but we would extend our right leg in front of uke and drop to our left knee, throwing uke heavily. It's an easy throw to generate a lot of momentum with and we were all completely buggered by the end.

I tell you, even sweeping the mats after class was an effort. My back was so sore.

I'll rest for the weekend I think. Back next week. OSU.
