The New Year is over and regular training is back in swing.

I had a bit of a break over the Christmas/New Year period. Caught up with family and all that stuff, but now I'm back to regular training. I'm going to do double classes every time from now on so as to build up my endurance.

Every night after general class there is a second class which is more advanced. We usually do further variations of the techniques practiced in general class and we always do renzoku. Sensei seems to focus on renzoku a lot.

I'm not completely sold on renzoku. It's good training for building up endurance because it's all about continuous movement, but I really don't see the practical application. I love kata. For me, kata is the real stuff. You really throw/pin people and you can feel how the technique is supposed to work.

I think the idea of renzoku is for sh'te and uke to work together to build up a continuous motion working in harmony together. Sounds good? Try it out in the middle of summer, 35 degrees celcius!!!!!!

Anyway, today is Saturday and I am going to the dojo this afternoon.
It's cloudy today, hopefully it won't be too humid. OSU.
