We did an interesting version of irimi nage ichi the other night.
Instead of taking my left hand across uke's body to their left shoulder, we were taking our left hand outside uke's right shoulder and then my right arm was coming across uke's chest towards their left shoulder.
As you take your left hand to uke's right shoulder you have to make sure that your shoulder is underneath theirs, this will lock them into place and ready for the throw. The throw is stepping through as per normal.
If you understand all that, try it out, it's a very interesting throw. OSU.
