15mins Of Fury

Well, I did good.

I went through all the techniques well without any major mistakes. It felt good to grade too. A good workout. One thing that put me off at the beginning was that I didn't have to uke this time.

My uke was a black belt, so, because he wasn't grading he didn't have to perform any techniques himself. I kept waiting to uke at the start which threw my concentration a bit. This also meant that I did all the techniques straight through.

It was fast paced and I was exhausted by the end. After walking off the mats I could hardly breathe, I throught I was going to throw up!!! Good shinsa. OSU.

Shinsa Time

I've decided to grade, against better judgement.

I attended a couple of sessions this week. The shinsa will be on nikajo and sankajo. I know the techniques but I've been so busy I just haven't had all the time I wanted to practice. I've registered so now I'm going to do it today.

I'll post this evening to share how it went. OSU.

Patience

I don't think I have the time to grade this Shinsa.

It's frustrating when you have a mental plan worked out of what you are going to do for the next six months and then life happens. Now it's all out the window.

I'm too busy at work and there's been too many bills this month. I have to let it go, maybe next month, definately.

I want to get this Shodan. I've been stuffing around with aikido for nearly ten years, it's time for some closure in order to move on.

I'm sure my plan will work. Patience is a virtue. OSU.

Another Shinsa

It comes around quickly. Sogo Shinsa means two weeks of grading training.

Plenty of time to prepare for my 2nd step. I have no concerns at this stage although I'm not sure yet of what the techniques will be. I'll keep you posted. OSU.

Tenchi Nage

Friday night was tenchi nage night.

We spent the whole class on my favourite technique. It's one thing I feel confident with and towards the end of the class we started doing rezoku training with this movement.

It felt good to start back with intensive training, we haven't done much of late.

I think it was Wednesday night we were doing nikkajo. I don't know how to make that work.
Maybe one day it will click. OSU.

Success in Shinsa

1st step has been completed.

This time I didn't receive a certificate, just a sheet of marks for each technique.

There were no major problems, looking forward to next shinsa.
This will be a sogo shinsa, giving me two weeks of preparation. OSU.
