Everything went fine. I passed Jun 3rd Kyu.

I didn't have any hassles on the day. It all clicked perfectly and the grading went smoothly.

Now I have to wait for Sogo Shinsa until I can grade again. That will be 3rd Kyu (brown belt).
Now I'm getting into the good stuff!!!!! OSU.

Today I am going to grade for Jun 3rd Kyu.

It has been a difficult week of training. Jun 3rd is really hard.
I have to perform three techniques nominated by Sensei as well as a lot of other stuff that has been developed by Sensei himself. I can't even remember the names of the movements????

The final part is Kanran Renzoku. This has also been developed by Sensei.

Anyway, there is no point worrying about it now. I will just go and grade. OSU.

Ukemi practice is going strong.

My shoulder is nearly recovered and I only went to training twice this week. Both times I got to to ukemi practice again.
Once was from kote gaeshi and another from a kokyu nage throw. I feel like I am learning to relax with it a lot more. When relaxed the throw doesn't seem as scarey and the landing can feel a lot better........except towards the end of the lesson.

As I get tired my landings become sloppy and then I can hurt myself. A couple of times I almost winded myself but that was OK. No further injuries were sustained.

Looking forward to practice next week. OSU.

I've had a sore shoulder all this week.

Last Friday week, 03 Ocotber, we did ukemi practice all night from the kote gaeshi throw. If you read the last blog you can see it was my opportunity to practice. However, doing ukemi by yourself and being thrown by a 3rd Dan are two completely different things. I landed badly all night.

I felt alright during training because I was warmed up, but the next day I could hardly raise my arm. The whole deltoid area was painful because of bad landings. I wasn't able to attend training until the next Friday just gone. That night was another good night. We did a kokyu-nage throw which allowed me to practice ukemi again, but this throw wasn't as severe as the kote gaeshi.

I felt good at the end of class, although I was exhausted. We were practicing by having one person as sh'te and the rest of us lined up and running in quickly to uke. You don't get a chance to rest and it's great fitness training.

My shoulder is feeling better and I think I'll return to regular classes next week. OSU.

Well, another week over and another grade passed. Next month I will test for Jun 3rd Kyu.

This week has been painful. We did some ukemi practice and I have landed badly on my shoulder. We were doing the ukemi from a kote gaeshi move so I had to do the proper flip, but that is hard. I think I have a fear of hurting myself and I hold back. I'll just have to keep trying as this is something that I want to achieve.

I want to achieve proper ukemi so that I can flip like all the seniors.

There, I have stated my goal and now I will work to achieve it. Some nights I feel discouraged, like I am never going to progress, but I will never give up and I promise myself that I WILL get better. OSU.
